ESOP FAQs

Understanding Employee Ownership at EAH

We believe the people who build our success should share in it. Through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), every eligible team member becomes a company owner, sharing in the growth, value, and future they have helped create.

Read on for answers to some of the most common questions about how our ESOP works and what it means for you.
What is an ESOP?

An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) is a retirement benefit that gives employees ownership in the company they help grow.

Each year, the company contributes shares of Employment Alliance Holdings stock into eligible employees’ accounts. As EAH grows and becomes more valuable, so does your ownership stake, allowing you to share directly in our collective success.

No. The ESOP is entirely funded by EAH. You don’t have to make any contributions. Your ownership grows automatically over time, at no cost to you.

While both are retirement plans, the ESOP is fully funded by the company, not the employee.

  • With a 401(k), you contribute part of each paycheck.
  • With an ESOP, the company contributes shares of stock on your behalf.

Both can work together to build long-term financial security, but the ESOP gives you a true ownership stake in the business you help build.

You’re eligible to join the ESOP when you:

  • Are at least 21 years old.
  • You complete one year of service (at least 1,000 hours worked during that year).

Once these requirements are met, you officially become an ESOP participant on the first day of the plan year in which you qualify. (Employees who were age 21 or older and employed on December 31, 2016, automatically entered the plan on January 1, 2016.)

Vesting determines how much of your ESOP account you own if you leave the company. The longer you stay, the more you own.

Years of Service

Vested Percentage

1 Year 0%
2 Years 20%
3 Years 40%
4 Years 60%
5 Years 80%
6 Years 100%

After six years, you’re fully vested, and you own 100% of the shares allocated to you.

Being part of an employee-owned company means:

  • Financial Growth: As EAH grows, your ESOP account grows too.
  • Retirement Savings: You build a long-term benefit at no personal cost.
  • Shared Success: Everyone has a stake in the company’s performance.
  • Stronger Culture: Ownership builds accountability, pride, and teamwork.

Because ownership matters. The ESOP is our way of rewarding dedication, fostering teamwork, and ensuring that the people who make EAH great share in the results.

It’s more than a benefit. It’s a belief: when the company grows, we all grow together.

It means your work has a direct impact on your team, your paycheck, and on the company’s overall success. Every idea, every effort, every act of integrity contributes to the value of something you truly own.

Here at EAH, you’re not just an employee. You’re an owner.
